Dr. Matthew Mazur is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in adult reconstruction and joint replacement of the hip and knee. His clinical focus includes primary and complex total hip and knee arthroplasty. He is committed to muscle-sparing surgical techniques—including the anterior approach to total hip arthroplasty and the subvastus approach to total knee arthroplasty—that minimize soft tissue disruption, reduce postoperative pain, and accelerate return to activity. Dr. Mazur also integrates advanced preoperative planning and robotic-assisted technology to optimize surgical precision and patient outcomes.
Dr. Mazur received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame. He went on to earn a Master of Science in Biomedical Science and his medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, followed by an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
Dr. Mazur is committed to advancing the field of orthopaedics. He has contributed to this goal by publishing numerous peer-reviewed research articles, presenting at local and regional conferences, securing institutional grant funding, and serving as a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Robotic Surgery. He is an active member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, cooking, painting, boating, and spending time with his family.
